Sara Weinstock Jewelry

Feminine Strength Embodied in Divine Luxury

Sara Weinstock JewelryFine jewelry with the perfect balance of femininity and design is hard to come by.
California native, Sara Weinstock, brings just that in her exquisite line of jewelry showcasing her signature style.  Drawing inspiration from nature and the raw beauty of the world, Sara puts her passion into creating pieces to symbolize the strength of women.  Her line “blends couture and artistry in celebrating the balanced harmony of Nature” to embrace a sophisticated global aesthetic with eclectic California style, where the designer grew up and currently resides.  Sara sources precious gemstones and organic materials from some of the most exotic locales in the world —paraiba tourmaline from Brazil, moonstone from Sri Lanka, agate from India, and sapphires from Madagascar — yet each piece is proudly handmade in the USA.

Her inspiration to become a jewelry designer was never a set plan, but instead happened organically in a very fortuitous way.  After being married for nearly 20 years and raising two fantastic kids they were so proud of, Sara and her husband decided to split and she knew it was vital to put her energy into a positive outlet.  Launching her first collection in November 2008, Sara introduced the world to The Universal Love Collection, which encompassed deep, spiritual messages that resonated for many women and men in a time of need for harmony and balance.  Sara says, “The world was tanking and many people were forced to go within, soul search and find a meaning or something that they would gravitate towards, I was fortunate that many found what they were searching for in my designs.”  She thinks perhaps it was where she was in her life upon launching the collection, being raw, vulnerable and extremely aware of others and their feelings.  “I found an audience, one I am so very grateful for today,” Sara adds.

Sara Weinstock JewelryHer style of jewelry is about honoring the divine feminine energy from within and striving to create Divine Luxury.  Sara explains, “It is respectful and mindful of what a woman wants today.  Something she can wear during the day and then layer on a few more pieces for that “wow” statement at night.”  Her favorite materials to use are rose gold and diamonds and she basically loves diamonds with anything.  A beautiful yet simple cuff perfect enough for everyday is the Miligraine Cuff.  It is slender, elegant and pure with its thin gold band hugging a row of sparkly diamonds.  This is ideal for wearing by itself or pairing with other bracelets and cuffs for a layered look.  This cuff is crafted of polished 18k gold and channel-set with a center row of round-cut diamonds as the band displays fine milgrain work (Retail $3,900).

Sara’s love for jewelry started when she was young as she has been attracted to jewelry as far back as she can remember.  One of her most vivid memories is sitting on Santa’s lap as a young kid and wearing six necklaces and five rings, knowing how to layer before she had any clue it would become such a trend.  Another strong childhood memory of hers was when her aunt, an antique dealer, would visit and share her amazing collection of estate jewelry.  Sara and her aunt would sit on the floor together for hours and go through each piece as her aunt would tell her the origin, circa and juicy pieces of info about each piece.  Now looking back, Sara can see that was the beginnings of her desire to be in the jewelry business years later.  Sara studied Acting to Broadcast Journalism at Pepperdine University, but eventually realized being in front of the camera was not her calling.  She jokes, “I also cry watching the news so reporting it was never going to happen.”  She also graduated from the G.I.A.

Sara Weinstock JewelryAs Sara works in Paris during Fashion Week twice a year, the country has deeply influenced her designs with collections such as the French Lace Collection which was inspired by the banisters, balconies, and architecture of one of the most romantic cities in the world.  Sara Weinstock releases two major collections around spring and fall but as her pieces are timeless, there are very few styles that are not still currently being sold somewhere in the world.  From this French Lace Collection, we adore the Mini French Lace Ring because it is a sturdy and wide ring with all the right elements of gold and diamonds, without being gaudy or over the top.  This lace ring is superb with its lace design all around, accented with white diamonds.  The romantic aura from this ring displays the splendor of Paris.  (Retail $3,000).  Sara’s talent in designing jewelry is evident in her wide variety of styles, from classic and old world to modern and sophisticated.

Sara Weinstock JewelryA necklace that pairs well with the ring above is the Victorian French Lace Pendant Necklace crafted of 18k gold set with white diamonds.  Shiny polished yellow gold with a feminine and romantic lace pendant with .56 ct diamonds makes this a great everyday necklace. Lovely enough as a centerpiece necklace to wear alone or to layer with other pieces.  (Retail $4,260)  Sara praises her production team as amazing and as for her right hand, she could not live without because she is always two steps ahead of Sara.  Being a successful jewelry designer who started her business from nothing, Sara says the hardest part about her job is not taking things personally.  The most valuable lesson learned is to “not push send…breathe. Sleep on it.”  Sounds like wise words that we could all benefit from.

Creativity runs in her blood as her mother was a beautiful artist and taught Sara so much about design and décor.  Sara was her easel as a few of photos of Sara as a child was her holding her mother’s paintings in the front yard.  Sara knows that if she did not design jewelry, she would naturally be an interior decorator as she has an instinctive ability to walk into somebody’s home, take all their existing furniture and completely turn it upside down and amaze them without buying new pieces.  “It’s all about balance, proportions, shapes, color, scale and placement, I truly love decorating,” she says.  Sara finds that the most rewarding part about her job is her relationships with her accounts because she cares so much about them personally and professionally.  “I have a great deal of respect for our industry and what it takes from the conception of my design to our client wearing it out the door and what it takes to make that happen.   This is a common goal we share together and I make my best effort to always say yes,” Sara shares.

We asked Sara to share some of her jewelry pieces with us to which she jokingly said “my obsessions shift from day to day but fortunately I have a large jewelry box aka a safe.”  Sara is in love with rose gold Sara Weinstock Jewelryand layering as she has a collection of TAJ inspired jewelry from her trip to India.  “Negative Space is something that is new for me and I am having a blast with designing from this place,” she shares.  Her initial jewelry collection had more weight to it and was visually heavier with large center stones.  That collection of rings is still popular but Sara found herself wanting something a bit daintier.  Sara ultimately designs for herself and fingers crossed others like it.  From this gorgeous and sparkly TAJ collection, we love the sleek and clean modern design of the Double Taj Outline Cecilia Ring.  Rose gold with pave diamonds all around the shank, this ring has feminine curves and allows you to wear it two ways with the full bands in front or the band ends forming an elegant gap on the finger.  This style of the Taj ring contrasts the old world, romantic look of the Mini French Lace ring as it is sleek and sexy.  (Retail $3,120)

Who is Sara’s favorite jewelry designer? She could not pick just one as it was a tie so she shared two of her favorite designers.  First is Todd Reed, a genius who is a true designer and artist.  Sara thinks of him like a great chef, who can open the fridge and make a gourmet meal out of what is available, whereas others have to go by recipe and shop for every ingredient.  While she has never met him, she understands he is a “super cool guy.”  Sara is also deeply in love with the work of Sevan Biçakçi and the Turkish influence.  Sevan is her other favorite designer because his one of a kind masterpieces are ones that you will never see anybody else be able to master.  She feels his brilliant mind has brought the world such an extraordinary body of work that will be shared by generations to come.

Sara Weinstock JewelrySara Weinstock has a breath-taking array of earrings and ear cuffs to adorn your lobes.  Unusual and beautiful like an exotic siren, her French Tulip Ear Cuff is stunningly eye-catching.  Designed to be worn on the left ear, this ear cuff follows the natural curve of your ear to accentuate its natural arc.  The gorgeous cuff features pavé white Sara Weinstock Jewelrydiamonds set in 18k polished rose gold in intricate traditional Parisian designs (Retail $1,760).  Her approach to creating a new collection often time starts with other components in her current pieces and then from there the possibilities are endless.  Sara adds, “My eyes are always exploring wherever I may be.  Architecture, tapestries, art textiles have influenced me.  Estate jewelry, auctions and anything with substance and meaning will impact my design process.”  The Petite Tassel Earrings also deliver an air of old world sophistication as these 18k yellow gold earrings feature dangling delicate chain tassels that sway and dance naturally.  White diamonds are set to give some sparkle but the main attraction are the gold tassels which makes these earrings so unique.

Like a girl after my own heart, Sara is also a foodie, loves great restaurants and good wine in exotic places.  She even adds, “will work for food and travel!”  So what does a normal day for Sara look like? She starts most days with a hike in the Malibu hills where she lives as the ocean vistas and smell of the sea air recharges her batteries.  She enjoys lazy Sundays with her kids where they all snuggle in bed and watch all the weeks of their favorite TV shows that have piled up.  In essence, friends and family is where she spends most of her free time, with conversation, laughter and a good shot of tequila.  On a personal note, her daughter, now 22, went to New York University without any love or interest in jewelry.  But when her fellow classmates started asking her, “Are you related to Sara Weinstock?” her love of jewelry began.  In a way, that simple thing makes Sara proud because she does not have either one of her parents to share in her happiness of fulfilling a business.

Sara feels extremely fortunate to work with the clients and stores in her stocklist because they support each other as a team.  One of her biggest well-established luxury retailers with a professional staff is Barneys New York.  Sara feels that her products speak for themselves as being made in the U.S. with consistency and quality that only makes Sara Weinstock more desirable.  Their business has grown greatly since launching in 2008 due to great partnerships with some of the world’s finest stores.  Having recently picked up several new accounts, Sara is looking forward to the opportunity to meeting many new, happy Sara Weinstock clients around the world.  Sara Weinstock is available at fine retailers worldwide including Barneys New York, Broken English, Emporium Azerbaijan, Luisa Via Roma Italy, London Jewelers, Galleries Lafayette Paris, Ron Herman Tokyo, Mercury Russia, Anna Fine Vienna and L’Eclaireur Paris.
