Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa

The Perfect Wine Country Getaway

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in the heart of Sonoma wine country is one of the most luxurious and romantic hotels. Where else can offer you plush and pampered rooms along with a full service spa that is like no other? Whether you are staying overnight or just taking some time off for a spa treatment, you will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & SpaThe Fairmont Sonoma is renowned for their spa treatments and bathing facilities. All spa guests are welcome to enjoy their signature Bathing Ritual, which is an outdoor, public oasis of thermal mineral pools with Jacuzzi jets. The Fairmont Sonoma is proud to be one of the only luxury spa resorts with their own thermal mineral water, which flows directly beneath the Inn. After soaking in those luxuriously warm pools, enjoy their Eucalyptus steam room, sauna, or indoor lounge.

Choose from an extensive array of spa options, from massages to facials to tanning and pedicures. They also have tanning and flotation treatments, bodywraps, and exfoliating scrubs. Note worthy treatments are the Chardonnay Olive Oil Sugar Scrub, Couples Wine and Roses Massage, Barefoot Shiatsu, and Cabana Massage Plus Soak. If you are unsure where to start, a great massage for beginners is the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa Massage, a relaxing and stress relieving full-body therapeutic massage to undo those knots and release toxins. Or, go all out and choose from one of their splendid spa packages, such as "The Royal Treatment" or "Bride-to-be." To further your romantic getaway, you and your loved one should treat yourselves to a couples massage. With their Couples Wine and Roses Massage, soak in a romantic rose bath with rose petals and sip sparkling wine before indulging in your special side-by-side massage.

The hotel provides guests with everything they could need, and even offers a gourmet restaurant for fine dining. Sante, is a culinary gem that The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spahas been honorably mentioned in nationwide magazines and travel shows for their exquisite menu. The service is impeccable. Modern décor with touches of light brick against coral and earth toned walls. Single candles illuminate each table under a high ceiling while elegant French doors add a touch of flair to the contemporary "Napa" house atmosphere. Dinner is off to a great start after trying their organic varieties of bread from a local bakery accompanied with imported French butter. While the menu reflects seasonal creativity, Chef Joseph Brown always delivers his very best.

For starters, the Poached Maine Lobster with Butternut "Spaghetti" was an intensely flavored tender, fresh, plump, and naturally seasoned lobster tail with crisp shreds of butternut squash bursting with flavor from the brown butter emulsion. While that was satisfying, I commend the Braised Painted Beef Short Ribs as one of the best starter courses on the menu! Succulent, falling off the bone, tender pieces of meat with a tamarind puree and ginger polenta gave off Asian flavors while capturing the rich taste of the ribs.

Sante has a great selection of seafood entrees as well as various winning meat dishes. The Seared Oregon Steelhead was undercooked just right so that it tasted like rich butterfish. Balanced by the brininess from the Steelhead roe, it created a natural seasoning to ensure that the flavors of the salmon were untouched. If you want some of the best steak ever with a great glass of red wine, the "Painted Hills" Beef Sirloin for Two is the way to go. You may have had beef for two at many other places, but you have likely never had it cooked to such perfection that each slice of sirloin is as tender and juicy as the next. To top it off, the sirloin is served with a side of wine reduction sauce as smooth as honey.

Afterwards, unwind in your guestroom as you fall into your plush down pillows and comforters. The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & SpaEnd your night with some peaceful slumber in your luxury designed hotel room. Guestrooms reflect wine country inspired décor with charming plantation shutters and ceiling fans. To make your stay all the more memorable, request a guestroom with a fireplace or consider their elegant suites and specialty rooms. As summer and harvest for the vineyards approaches, treat yourself and a loved one to a memorable getaway. Visit Fairmont Sonoma at or call 1-800-862-4945 to book a stay or spa treatment.
