Asian Creations: Cooking with Flair
Even though most people have the misconception that Asian food is hard to cook and extremely tedious, it is in fact one of the easiest cuisines to master once you familiarize yourself with the basic flavorings, sauces, and combinations. You can transform a sampling of different ingredients into an exotic and gourmet meal with just the right sauces and seasonings.
With Asian Creations by Linh & Loann, you can choose from a delicious selection of all natural sauces, non-msg marinades, spices, and snacks for your next culinary creation. Linh and Loann are two sisters of Vietnamese origin who founded the company, Asian Creations. They were strongly inspired by their world-traveler father and envisioned a way to blend the art of cooking with the ease of creating home made meals. Asian Creations offers dry spices for various Asian dishes in addition to their sauces, which can be used in a variety of ways from marinades to dressings and dips as well as other Asian basics such as rice, rice noodles, and rice paper. They even have uniquely flavored pecans, cashews, and almonds in their snack shop.
The popular spice blends ($5.99 each) such as Tasty Tandoori, Cool Coconut, and Luscious Lemongrass are a few of their bestsellers among the delicious selections to choose from. The Tasty Tandoori works great as a rub for chicken, beef, and fish because it captures the flavors of Indian curry without being overpowering in spiciness. I personally like throwing some of this curry spice on rice noodles tossed with celery, chicken, and green onions for a light but appetizing dish. Another mouth-watering spice rub to try is the Sassy Satay which tastes as if it's right off an authentic Thai grill. The Cool Coconut spice is big hit and you can dash coconut in soups, rice, stir-fry dishes, and desserts. It's much easier than using coconut milk and even a touch or two can transform your simple dish into a tropical or Thai? One of my favorites is the Luscious Lemongrass because it is used in many Vietnamese dishes like pho beef noodles or grilled chicken and shrimp. Just a sprinkle of this seasoning will kick up soups and entrees with a citrus tang that brings out the garlic and full flavor it holds. As for fried rice, its a simple dish that anyone can throw together - but it can be even easier and tastier with toasted sesame seeds and naturally brewed soy sauce in the Fabulous Fried Rice Mix.
Moving onto to Linh and Loann's personal collection of sauces ($7.99 each) - choose from Peanut Passion, Pad Thai Pizzazz, Tantalizing Teriyaki, and Marvelous Mango. The fabulous perk is that all of their sauces can also be used as marinades for meats and vegetables in addition to specified entrees. Many Thai dishes use peanut sauce as their base, but usually containing a lot of oil and artificial seasonings. This sauce however uses all natural and fresh ingredients like coconut milk, ginger, and lime that's great for tossing with cold pasta or as a light salad dressing over mixed greens. And of course, everyone loves Pad Thai! Their Pad Thai Pizzazz sauce is light and not gooey so it is a perfect blend of sweet and sour garlic flavoring to stir-fry over noodles with chicken or shrimp. As for the sake, sherry, ginger, and pineapple juice blended Tantalizing Teriyaki sauce, you absolutely can't go wrong with it. Be daring and use this as the sauce for an Asian roasted duck pizza with scallions. For eaters who have a sweet tooth for plum or duck sauce, a healthier and more unique alternative is the Marvelous Mango sauce. Its chili peppered tanginess pairs well with finger food appetizers and chicken or seafood salads.
Besides Asian Creations online store, their website offers plenty of stimulating recipes such as grilled bacon-wrapped chicken, squash bisque, and Thai chicken pizza. Mmmmm...Are you hungry yet?
